One of the things that makes Brimstone a unique consulting firm is our roots in Process Consulting. This methodology was developed by Ed Schein at MIT in the 1960’s, and has evolved over the years into a theory of how consultants can partner with the people in businesses not only to get stuff done, but to develop new organizational capabilities along the way. At Brimstone, this is core to our approach. Instead of showing up with all the answers, we teach groups and individuals how to ask good questions during the process of change. Then we guide our clients—through a series of interactions, conversations, or specific programs—how to answer those questions for themselves. When Bob Marcus spoke at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business in 2014, he summed up how Process Consulting shapes Brimstone’s approach to partnering with our clients.
