Mary W. AmorySenior Consultant

Mary Amory is a Senior Consultant who joined Brimstone Consulting Group in 2000. She has broad experience in the field of organizational behavior and performance. Her recent work has focused on companies seeking to increase the performance of their employees through attention to corporate culture, team performance and leadership behavior.

Her particular strength and interest is cross-cultural communication and performance. Mary furthered her expertise in cross-cultural communication by moving with her family to study for a Masters in the International Business Program at École Superieure de Commerce in Grenoble, France. Since then, she has worked with Brimstone clients including Solectron Global Services, Pfizer, Waste Management, Jones Lang LaSalle and General Dynamics.

Before joining Brimstone, Mary was a private consultant working with large and small companies including many Fortune 500 and 100 firms, designing and delivering custom programs worldwide. Clients included Motorola Cellular Infrastructure Group, CIT, Viacom, American Ski Company, Mars, Inc. and IDEXX.

Mary received her MBA from the University of Maine in May 2001. Her late in life degree combines corporate experience with theoretical interest and a global outlook. It builds on her travel experience throughout Europe, living in England, France and Norway. She has a BA from the University of Massachusetts in Human Potential and Development. Additional personal training has come from Center for Creative Leadership, Interaction Associates, Institute for Intercultural Studies, MBTI certification and the MRG Leadership suite of tools.

Prior work experience includes Associate Director of a leading gallery of contemporary art in Maine, teaching in the public schools of Maine, Director of Development at a non-profit social service agency and operating a small business. Board membership has included Family Planning Association of Maine, Camden Youth Arts, Tanglewood 4H Camp and Maine Coast Artists. Currently she is a regional representative for the global health organization Partners In Health. She lives in Maine and enjoys spending time with her husband and their three grown daughters—hiking, sailing, skiing, reading and travel.
