Gordy Curphy, PhD — Senior Partner

Gordy Curphy is a Senior Partner with Brimstone Consulting Group. An expert in the field of leadership, Gordy brings a 30-year career in strategic planning and organizational alignment, executive team facilitation, executive assessment and succession planning, performance management, leadership training, survey design, and public speaking to his work with Brimstone.

Gordy has leveraged this expertise to help clients such as ADT, AMD, Ariba, Boeing, BP, CSA Group, Cummins, Delta Airlines, HP, Husky Energy, MassMutual, Saudi Aramco, Symantec, The Home Depot, Toyota, Waste Management, Wheelabrator Technologies, and Zebra Technologies develop a new organizational vision, gain alignment around the strategies needed to support the vision, and identify and develop the talent and teams needed to make the vision become reality.

Previously Gordy served for 10 years as Vice President for the Blandin Foundation and Personnel Decisions International (PDI). He was responsible for successfully starting up PDI’s Denver Operating Office and running the company’s flagship office in the Twin Cities. He has also been a Tenured Associate Professor at the United States Air Force Academy and Adjunct Faculty member at The Center for Creative Leadership. While at the Academy Gordy won several teaching awards and co-authored the leadership textbook, Leadership: Enhancing the Lessons of Experience. To date, over 450 colleges and universities in the United States, Canada, Europe, India, and China have adopted this number one selling textbook.

Gordy earned his BS in Organizational Behavior from the United States Air Force Academy, his MA from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas, and his Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Minnesota.

He currently resides in St Paul, Minnesota with his wife and two children.
