Jim Schultz has been a Senior Partner with Brimstone Consulting Group, LLC since 2009. A former client of Brimstone, Jim is a veteran executive with a reputation as a world-class motivator and dynamic agent of change. From his days as a supersonic F4 Phantom II jet fighter pilot, to accomplished careers in government and business, Jim earned a reputation as a leader who gets results the right way. He has been widely featured in various publications, including: The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and The New York Times.

Jim brings his specialty focus of creating positive cultures in safety, employee engagement, customer service, productivity, and team alignment to his work with Brimstone. Working with Fortune 500 companies, his leadership experience is rooted in balancing human behavior, accountability, common sense process, and performance measures.

Jim retired in 2007 as Senior VP Employee and Customer Engagement for Waste Management, Inc. where he developed and led the "Mission to Excellence" program, which engaged employees to provide a consistently superior customer experience. This role followed his tenure at WM as VP of Health & Safety, where he developed programs that produced a change in safety culture and a reduction of casualties by 75% in 5 years in this 50,000 employee international company.

Prior to joining WM, Jim was VP and Chief Safety Officer for CSX Railroad and he spent over a decade in the Federal Railroad Administration, responsible for nationwide rail safety oversight.

Jim earned his BA from Arizona State University, his MA from Webster University, and has completed post-graduate and executive course work at The Harvard Business School, Northwestern University, and the University of Southern California.

Jim holds an FAA commercial pilot, multi-engine jet, and instrument rating. He is a past member of the Federal Senior Executive Service, and was awarded "The Silver Star for Bravery" by the American Federation of Police. He resides in Fredericksburg, Texas, with his wife Constance.
