Brimstone Consulting Group Adds International and Local Staff
Two new Managing Directors hired as company expands
Camden, ME, April 16, 2010 – Brimstone Consulting Group, LLC, a Maine-based global management consulting firm, announces the latest additions to their staff. Mary Larson and Bob Gordon have been brought on as Managing Directors. In this role, they will each provide operational leadership for the Brimstone team, support client relationships and lead workshop design and facilitation.
Over a 30-year career in management consulting and industry, Mary Larson worked with the leadership of major global corporations to help them grow profitably through better business and go-to-market strategies, and helped execute these strategies by managing the organizational and cultural shifts necessary to ensure success.
Her experience spans financial services, consumer goods, retail, transportation, health care, energy, and telecommunications, with clients across North and South America, Europe and the Far East. Clients have included Amerada Hess, Avon, Business Development Bank of Canada, Bosch/Siemens, Chase Private Banking, Cirque du Soleil, ConAgra, Constellation Brands, Corning, CN, Duke Power, Federated Department Stores, GE Capital, General Mills, Heineken Europe, Boutique Jacob, JohnsonDiversey, LexisNexis, McDonald’s, Royal Bank of Canada, Sealy, Scott Paper and Western Union.
Mary was previously a senior consulting partner with Mitchell Madison Group, Monitor Group, and A.T. Kearney. In addition, she has held senior executive positions with McDonald’s Corporation, Alcan and Culinar. Mary began her career with McKinsey & Co.
She received her BA from Princeton and her MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Mary is based in Montreal, where she lives with her husband and son.
Bob Gordon’s career spans 30 years in leadership and team development with a focus on action learning. He has designed and delivered programs for CEOs and senior managers at Xerox Corporation, Bankers Trust, The Global Leadership Program of the University of Michigan, Prudential Real Estate, Motorola Cellular and the Institute for Civic Leadership. In his work at Brimstone, he is focusing on providing powerful lessons and insights into the behavior of leaders and teams in challenging situations.
Bob was formerly based in Maine as the President of Outward Bound Professional and a member of the senior management team for Outward Bound USA. Under Bob's leadership, OB Professional became a leader in the industry delivering results-focused programs for Outward Bound's clients in the areas of team building, leadership development, cultural change, communication, and trust building.
Bob recently co-authored the book, Leadership The Outward Bound Way, which provides lessons for leaders in the workplace and has a forward by former President Jimmy Carter.
Bob has a BS in Business Administration from the University of Southern Maine. He completed leadership programs with The Center for Creative Leadership, NTL, General Electric, Interaction Associates and Harvard Business School. He teaches seminars for the University of Maine's Conference and Institutes Division and is a keynote speaker on “Leadership at The Edge.”
An avid sailor and climber, Bob was a member of the 1991 American Karakoram Expedition to Gasherbrum II. He lives in Camden, Maine, and is married with two children.
