At Brimstone, Aaron serves as a partner for leaders of nonprofits, foundations, and corporate philanthropy. Aaron helps these individuals and their organizations leverage private and public sector generosity to ensure measurable and positive impacts in the communities they serve.
Aaron brings 20 years of experience building programs and growing social and environmental impact organizations. From engaging startups to navigating global organizations and complex networks of partnerships–Aaron has led programs in 40 countries. Aaron has worked with JP Morgan Chase, UBS, MacArthur Foundation, Boeing, Cisco, Google, and many other institutions on philanthropic initiatives. With technical expertise in program and organizational design, change management, building adaptive systems-based solutions, and with a decade of executive leadership and managing boards, Aaron serves as an advisor and collaborator with nonprofit and foundation executives to cultivate transformation and accelerate impact.
Aaron previously served as Executive Director of The Experiment in International Living, Vice President for Innovation and Advancement at World Learning, and Executive Director at The Columbia Gorge Ecology Institute. Aaron has a doctorate in Education from Prescott College, is a wilderness enthusiast, wooden boat sailor, skier, and an avid edible wild mushroom hunter.
Aaron lives in Putney, Vermont with his partner, Fiona, and their two kids Iris and Gabriel.
